God has given me the opportunity to serve in Japan with Fellowship of Christian Athletes since 2012. After growing up in Japan for 5 years as a child, my heart for the Japanese has grown ever since. My dream growing up was to play professional baseball in Japan, to use it as a platform to share Jesus there. God’s perfect plan, however was for me to play a background role to support and encourage those athletes, and to help them use their influence for the Kingdom of God to reach the coaches, athletes, and the sports community in Japan.
Japan is the largest unreached people group in the world with less than 0.5% of Japanese who are Followers of Jesus. Sports, particularly baseball is huge in Japan and is a powerful universal language through which Japanese can be introduced to Jesus.
Many new doors are being opened for exciting opportunities in Japan through FCA. We have just developed the first ever Baseball Bible and are developing more resources to reach the coaches and athletes in Japan. In my personal life as well, God has blessed me with a new wife and partner, Kimberly, who has joined me in Japan after our marriage in October 2015.
